Any Given Sunday

On any given Sunday, youre gonna win or lose. But can you win or lose like a man? Coach Tony DAmato (Al Pacino) has coached the Miami Sharks football team for thirty years. But Christina Pagniacci (Cameron Diaz) inherited the team from her father and looks at it more as a business. And wins give her more leverage for expansion. Unknown third-string replacement, Willie Beaman (Jamie Foxx), leads the team in a come-from-behind victory when legendary quarterback Jack Cap Rooney (Dennis Quaid) is injured. But the fame goes to Willies head and alienates the team. As Coach DAmato struggles with Christina over control of the team, he also tries to turn Willie back into a team leader. But maybe its time to retire. This look behind the exciting games shows coaches, owners, families and media surrounding the players. With a strong starring cast and thrilling, bone-jarring football plays, this one is sure to bring out the sports fans.

Although the playing field provides plenty of action, time is also spent showing locker room speeches, player parties and business negotiations. The locker room provides instances of full male nudity. The coach spends time with a prostitute in a scene with breast and female rear nudity. Women at a beach party and on a video wear thong bikinis. Cocaine is snorted and a tray of pills dropped at a players party. The coach and Christinas mother drink heavily and complain that the game took away their families. Offensive language occurs with appalling regularity as characters spew over 100 f-words, and Gods name is used in vain 28 times. One character says his mother doesnt come to games because she thinks Sunday is for church. Obviously, the film makers didnt feel the same way, although the players do kneel and recite the Lords Prayer with a priest in one scene. However, it appears more interesting to show one player vomiting at each game. Any good lessons are lost in a sea of filth in ANY GIVEN SUNDAY.
