Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein

For some they're annoying and for others endearing. But, like it or not, Alvin and the Chipmunks are back with Frankenstein's monster on their tales. Performing at the thrill-ride capital of the universe, Alvin and the gang get lost after dark in the park and end up staying the night in Dr. Frankensteins spooky castle. Of course, their curiosity gets the better of them as they search the castle and stumble onto, or into, the monster himself, a nuts-and-bolts creation of the mad scientist. This leads to a harrowing chase through the park as the chipmunks try to outrun the clutches of the big guy and get back in time for their concert. ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS MEET FRANKENSTEIN has all the characteristic chipmunk rock n roll tunes, thrills, spills, and disasters. Ages 3 through 7 will likely find direct-to-video animated feature fun and amusing, but their parents may want to invest in some ear plugs for the musical numbers.

The premise of this video may frighten some smaller viewers, but theres really more action and humor than frights in the story. The monster is ominous at first but the chipmunks eventually make friends with him and teach him to talk. There are a few ghosts, goblins, and witches flying about in the opening of the video as they enter the theme park. And a mob threatening to burn Frankensteins castle is a bit intense. Frankenstein destroys some property but no one is seriously injured. Also, Dr. Frankenstein accidentally shoots himself with a tranquilizer dart, as well as performs sinister experiments on the monster and the chipmunks. This includes creatures being electrocuted, some explosions, and one image shown of a brain in a glass jar. ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS MEET FRANKENSTEIN teaches some good lessons about friendship and acceptance and downplays the real scary stuff. But some may not want to introduce their young children to even semi-scary stories or this somewhat tamed version of Frankensteins monster.
