Beavis and Butthead Do America MPAA Rating: PG-13 Entertainment: +2 Content: -2

The underachieving cartoon icons of MTV move to the big screen, but with little change in ambition. When their TV is stolen, Beavis and Butt-head get off the couch to find a replacement. When they go into a motel room occupied by Muddy Grimes, they're mistaken for killers he hired to do his wife, Dallas. The boys think do has a sexual meaning. Dallas offers them more money and hides a stolen secret weapon in Beavis' pants. She tells them to meet her in Washington for their reward. With federal agents in pursuit, the boys bus across America with a senior citizen tour. The trip is not without incident and often destruction is caused by the boys' unthinking actions. While satire has long been a humorous style, Beavis and Butt-head haven't quite got it yet. Mostly MTV fans will find some humor, but others will prefer America without these idiots.

Near the end of the film, President Clinton thanks the boys for saving the day, saying they exemplify American youth. We think more highly of American youth. Butt-head, in a desert hallucination, sees his life pass before his eyes. All he sees is he and Beavis on the couch watching TV. They swipe a television from school, breaking it accidently before walking away. A neighbor accuses them of self-gratification in his toolshed and camper. Their language is filled with crude and obscene terms and their focus, other than TV, is on sexual scoring. When an old woman offers Beavis a caffeine pill, he takes several along with lots of candy, and his personality gets even more outrageous with the sugar and caffeine buzz. In the desert, he bites into peyote cactus and his hallucination is filled with demonic images. A federal agent seeking the weapon orders cavity searches on anyone in contact with the boys. The Catholic church is ridiculed when the boys mistake confessional booth for port-a-potties and listen to confessions. Like the MTV version, there's something to offend almost everyone in this movie.
