Do you still toss and turn in your sleep wondering who "Deep Throat" of the Watergate scandal is? This new comedy tells all. It begins with the shocking break-in of Democratic offices that eventually led to Richard Nixons resignation. During a tour of the White House, teenagers Betsy Jobs and Arlene Lorenzo (Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams) unknowingly stumble into the midst of the frantic coverup efforts of the Nixon administration. They attract the attention of Nixons dog first, then meet the President (Dan Hedaya). They squeal with delight when he insists they call him Dick and hires them to be his official dog walkers. Arlene develops a crush on Dick and sings a love song to him on the tape recorder the girls discover is his secretarys desk drawer. DICK is like a 90-minute SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE episode. Exaggerated caricatures of Nixon and his staff will delight Democrats, and the clueless teenagers will draw young people to see DICK.

Everyone of authority looks and acts like simpletons in this film, from the manic, hard-drinking President and his cabinet to the girls parents, policemen and school teachers. Impressionable teenagers may assume their elders do not deserve respect because of such exaggerated movie images. Some sexually explicit humor includes references to a porn movie Beverlys brother is caught watching, which inspires the code name "Deep Throat." And, as might be expected, the films title becomes the key word in an obscene banner waving at Nixon as he leaves Washington in a helicopter. Some drugs accidentally become an ingredient of the cookies Beverly and Arlene serve the Nixon staff, resulting in even more chaotic behavior at the White House. Twelve obscenities include one f word and 8 s words, and 9 regular profanities were counted. Theres no sex, but Beverly distracts a young man by engaging in a brief "toss and tumble" on a bed with him while Arlene searches his house. Mild violence includes a house ransacked and the girls chased by a van. This spoof makes fun of drug use, our government and the tragic Watergate scandal. Then adds obscenities and profanities to make it "realistic" and sexual innuendo to make it funny. Needless to say, DICK does not meet Previews standards.
