FILM SYNOPSIS: A talented young musician on the brink of super stardom struggles with the pressure of her new-found success. It is a lightweight commentary on the music business and show business in general.
PREVIEW REVIEW: What a trap for those of an artistic nature: so much associated with fame becomes soul-sucking and yet those caught up in it can’t find a way to live with or without it. There’s a price to pay for catching that gold ring. Alas, this film handles this aspect of show business superficially. Though the performances are solid, I’m not sure the film would give pause to any starlet about to sign a Hollywood contract. Be careful what you ask for, that’s the message in this romantic drama. And all the while we get to look at the beautiful people get all the toys.
