FILM SYNOPSIS: Snow White is a princess in exile, and the evil Queen rules her captured kingdom. Seven courageous rebel dwarfs join forces with Snow White as she fights to reclaim her birthright and win her Prince.
PREVIEW REVIEW: Leisurely paced, with a nice mix of adventure and humor that ranges from droll wit to Stooges slapstick, Mirror Mirror is a pleasant movie outing for little ones and their chauffeurs. There aren’t many surprises (unless you’re one of those little ones) and the premise of a kick-bottom heroine taking charge while the prince is valiant but inept has become a tired cliché (unless you’re one of those little ones of the female persuasion), but I was pleased that sophomoric crudity had been left out, and the screening audience, both young and old, exited the theater content ever after.
It’s not in a league with Beauty and the Beast or Princess Bride – or Snow White, but as I said, it’s a pleasant enough Saturday movie matinee – especially if the aimed at demographic has popcorn and a Clark Bar.
