FILM SYNOPSIS: This colorful animated 3D sequel to the 2006 popular Happy Feet once again features a colony of Emperor Penguins faced with a struggle to survive a devastating natural disaster. Now married with a young son, Erik (Ava Acres), Mumble and Gloria (Elijah Wood and Pink) worry when little Erik refuses to follow in his dad’s tap dancing steps. Erik instead wants to explore other options and slips away with Ramon (Robin Williams) to seek his own unique talent. Mumble begins a search for his son that leads to the Adele Penguins Empire and Erik in awe of The Mighty Sven (Hank Azaria), a flying penguin. Soon this motley crew of characters lead a fight to save both penguin empires from certain destruction. Music, action, humor and a happy ending make Happy Feet Two a happy beginning for the 2011 holiday entertainment season.

PREVIEW REVIEW: Mumbles feels inadequate as a role model for Eric until he heroically saves the life of elephant seal Atticus (voice of Benjamin Flores, Jr.) during the long journey home. Using his brains to free the trapped Atticus gives Mumble self-confidence to work with other unlikely heroes to overcome danger. Leading thousands of penguins in an uplifting tap dance actually begins the break-up of a massive ice wall that has trapped them. The importance of family, helping strangers, recognizing we all have value and how little things can change the world should leave a good feeling for viewers.

Happy Feet Two might be a tad too long for youngsters. Over 1 ½ hours can be difficult for them. The complicated relationships and excessive number of characters are confusing to sort out even for this adult. Sometimes less is more when entertaining the public.
