Directed by Jennifer Yuh. Main Actors (voices): Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Gary Oldman.
FILM SYNOPSIS:This colorful, action-packed 3-D animated sequel stars Jack Black as Po, a lovable panda who has been trained by Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) to be a Dragon Warrior. Accompanied by a motley team of a crane (David Cross), a tigress (Angelina Jolie), a monkey (Jackie Chan) and a mantis (Seth Rogen), Po sets out on a quest to protect the Valley of Peace from the evil peacock, Lord Shen (Gary Oldman). Lots of humor and beautiful animation by DreamWorks will make this a big hit for the whole family.
PREVIEW REVIEW: Po discovers he has much to learn about life and who he really is. Separated from his parents as a very young panda, he has been adopted by a goose who loves him unconditionally. He knows Lord Shen is the key to what happened to his real family. There’s a very comforting message about defining family for foreign children separated from their birth parents and welcomed into a very different culture. There’s also some oriental philosophy expressed based on Buddhism. The warriors have to learn inner peace to be effective in facing danger to protect their own. Also a wise soothsayer advises Po to let go of the past, don’t worry about the future, but concentrate on now.
Some dark, sinister actions by the evil peacock and dangerous situations may frighten very young children. There are no obscenities, profanities or sexually suggestive dialogue.
