Based on the video game with the same name, Doom is an action-packed sci-fi adventure film that is set at an archaeological research center on Mars. The film opens with an unexplained horrific attack at the research center that leaves a woman without an arm and others stunned to death. After all but a few members of the research team are reported missing, the Rapid Response Tactical Squad led by Reaper (Karl Urban) and Sarge (Dwayne The Rock Johnson) arrives to rescue survivors and research material. They discover that an evil life lurks within the presumed dead. While trying to rescue loved ones, a survivor named Samantha (Rosamud Pike) learns that her coworkers have been bitten by an alien, turning them against her and everyone else. Doom is sure to interest those who like the video game, but it may be senseless for those unfamiliar with the game.

A correlation is made between a few Biblical references and life at the research center. After the attack, the center is compared to hell as people who have presumably died are raised up as evil creatures. One man quotes from I Peter 5:8, another speaks of taking Gods name in vain, and someone else refers to the first chapter of Genesis. Though these Biblical allusions may stimulate pondering about God, they also may result in a misunderstanding of Biblical truth based on fiction. The violence in this film is raw and horrible as loved ones thought to be dead are found resurrected as evil creatures that destroy people who love and trust them. In the manner of Hollywood vampires, these evil creatures bite the necks of their victims, but much more graphically, and change them into devils themselves. Due to high-intensity horror, violence and gore, and foul language, Preview advises you to avoid Doom.
