Herbie: Fully Loaded

MPAA Rating: G

Maggie Peyton (Lindsay Lohan) is a member of a third-generation stock-car racing family in this action/comedy. A recent college graduate, she plans to be a sports reporter with ESPN in New York. But a chance meeting at a salvage yard leaves Maggie as the new owner of a No. 53 VW Bug with a mind of its own. Maggies overprotective father (Michael Keaton) suggests they overhaul her new car, but she and former high-school classmate Kevin (Justin Long) discover that Herbie is no ordinary car. With a passion for racing in Maggies blood, she and Herbie prove to be a force as they go head to head with their on-track nemesis, Trip Murphy (Matt Dillon). Maggie must convince her father to support her need for speed and discovers that the road to her dreams must be traveled with honesty and trust. This feel-good movie is a real crowd pleaser earning belly laughs and applause from children and adults.

Adults will revel in the nostalgia of a Herbie film while children will be amused by the antics of the strong-willed VW. Maggies drive for racing causes her to compromise her honesty with her highly vigilant father. She later finds that one lie leads to another, leaving many victims in the wake of its destruction. Though the film is in line with its G rating, a few questionable elements include some moderate profanity, a single use of b-tt, and some mild sexual innuendo in the form of Maggie and Kevin accidentally falling into each other and Kevin attempting to sneak a peek as Maggie changes into a uniform. His attempts, however, are foiled by the ever watchful Herbie. This laugh-a-minute thrill ride for the entire family supports such biblical principles as integrity, honesty, modesty, trust, loyalty and respect for authority.
