Based on the books by A.A. Milne, Poohs Heffalump Movie takes viewers back to the Hundred Acre Woods for a new adventure. It begins one morning when Pooh (voiced by Jim Cummings), Piglet (John Fiedler), Tigger (Cummings) and Roo (Nikita Hopkins) are awakened by an unusually frightening sound. With the discovery of some large footprints, Pooh, Eeyore (Peter Cullen) and friends determine that the noise must have been the call of the dreaded Heffalump (Kyle Stanger). And so, led by Rabbit (Ken Sansom), the crew embarks on a Heffalump expedition in an attempt to capture the horrible beast. The only problem is that they have only their own overactive imaginations to tell them what a Heffalump is really like. So when Roo finally decides that he can go catch a Heffalump on his own, he is shocked to find that Heffalumps arent frightening or dangerous at all. In fact, they make good friends.

Poohs Heffalump Movie is a sweet, simple and innocent childrens story. And as in every Pooh story, this one includes misunderstandings, physical comedy (jumping, falling, etc.), and lots of good clean fun. The lessons are clear and heartfelt and, best of all, arent contrived. Rabbit, Piglet, Pooh and Tigger seem genuinely afraid of Heffalumps and later offer genuine apologies when they see that they were horribly wrong in their assessment of Heffalumps, teaching viewers the importance of being kind toward those who are different. If one could offer any criticism of the film, it would be that some of the musical numbers seem a little over the top. Part of the attraction of Pooh is his simplicity, which seems to be hindered rather than helped by the choice of music. Still, the movie is adorable and fun for both children and adults.
