Paparazzi is a dramatic movie produced by Mel Gibson about an up-and-coming movie star, Bo Laramie (Cole Hauser), and the freelance photographers who make their living taking pictures of famous people. Rex Harper (Tom Sizemore) is a lecherous shutterbug who seems to be particularly interested in Laramies new claim to fame and how that can be exploited for his personal gain. Bo likes the cameras when they help promote his acting career, but he takes a dim view of them when they invade his private life. The photographic invasion of self-proclaimed photo journalists goes too far when their picture taking causes an automobile accident that injures his wife (Robin Tunney) and son (Blake Bryan). Despite the efforts of Detective Burton (Dennis Farina), Laramie decides to protect his family by taking matters into his own hands.

Rex is determined to get private photographs of Bos family life because he says, Everyone wants to have a peek. Its human nature. This film shows the degree that unethical photographers will go to in order to get private pictures of public people. This includes trespassing, breaking and entering, and computer enhancement of photographs. It also shows the depths of human depravity as some people seek financial gain by fostering interest in things that degrade society. Bo Laramie tries to put a stop to the invasion of his privacy, first by asking nicely. Rex retaliates with a commitment to destroy your life and eat your soul. Because of the objectionable content in this film including intense violence, sexual content and bad language, Preview must give Pararazzi a negative acceptability rating. This film, however, is an eye opener to how freedoms are abused and need protection in our society.
