Breakin All the Rules

In this romantic comedy, Quincy (Jamie Foxx) is an editor with a publishing company that is downsizing. He is given the job of researching how to fire people with out any serious consequences, e.g., employees going postal. At about this time, his girlfriend breaks up with him. As a result of his research, he realizes how poorly she broke the news to him and finds himself writing a book on how to break up. His book is a big hit, and people come to him for advice in their relationships. First its his cousin, and then its his boss. While helping his cousin, his cousin begins to fall for Quincys girlfriend. The bosss girlfriend begins a relationship with the cousin, and the cousin wants to get back with his old girlfriend. And then you guessed it Quincys ex-girlfriend wants to get back with him. Its not long before things get out of hand. Also staring Morris Chestnut, Jennifer Esposito, Peter MacNicol and Gabrielle Union.

The main theme of this film is how to get the upper hand in your relationships. If you have the slightest inkling that your partner is going to break up with you, then you should do it to them before they get the chance to do it to you. In a discussion on love, the statement is made, Love does not care about honesty. It only cares about itself. That certainly is not biblical love. In the end, love is recognized as caring about another more than caring about yourself. Issues of faithfulness and honesty are addressed, but no strong positive message is given. There are several instances in which sex is implied but not shown, and Breakin All the Rule has some bad language and sexual dialog, which is the primary reason it does not get a recommendation from Preview.
