Catch That Kid is a comedic action-drama featuring the pre-teen antics of three friends, Maddy (Kristen Stewart), Austin (Corbin Bleu) and Gus (Max Theiriot). Maddys father, Tom (Sam Robards), has a relapse from a mountain-climbing injury that leaves him paralyzed. The only alternative to return him to health is an expensive experimental procedure. When Maddys mom, Molly (Jennifer Beals), a security-systems designer, is unable to obtain a loan to pay for the procedure, the kids decide to take matters into their own hands and devise a plan to rob a bank that has recently installed Mollys state-of-the-art security system. In this pre-pubescent game of cops and robbers, Catch That Kid provides a bubble-gum-chewing audience a thrilling, action-packed adventure where kids outwit their bumbling adult opponents at every turn using a variety of high-tech doodads.

In a desire to follow in her fathers footsteps, Maddy takes up mountain climbing but does so against her mothers wishes and even lies to her mom about it. Gus and Austin compete for Maddys love and become her partners in crime. When she learns of their motive, she decides to manipulate them with a kiss and a promise to be their girlfriend. Maddy, Austin and Gus disregard what they know to be wrong when they set out to steal $250,000 from the bank. The movie sends a message that it is okay to do a wrong act in order to achieve a good, or right, result. Some of the movies crude humor includes a Simpsons cartoon where Bart tries to take a picture of his bare rear end. While Catch That Kid does not have enough objectionable elements to warrant a negative rating from Preview, parents should think twice about letting their children see this one due to moral dilemmas.
