This comedy is about two con men that get a job each December in a mall as Santa (Billy Bob Thorton) and his elf (Tony Cox). When the vault is full of money from the holiday shoppers, they rob the place. This Santa, an alcoholic and a womanizer, does not care about anything or anybody and is on the verge of suicide. Santa meets an 8-year-old, overweight boy with no friends and, for the first time in his life, begins to find some meaning in his life. He comes to the boys aid, teaching him how to defend himself when attacked by bullies. When the mall security agent discovers their plan and wants in on the deal, things get messy. Also starring are Bernie Mac as the head of security and John Ritter as the mall manager.
This film is extremely profane and vulgar. Keeping track of the offensive language proved difficult with nearly every sentence containing profanity. If Santa is not drinking, it is usually because he is too drunk to drink. He meets a woman in a bar and has sexual relations with her in his car, in a pool and again in a dressing room. An odd little boy is the only redeeming character in the film. He has an advent calendar that has a piece of candy for each day leading up to Christmas. Santa tears it up and eats all of the candy. While on the job, Santa drinks alcohol and one time urinates in his paints. This film is so bad that the TV trailer has to be bleeped out presumably because they could not find a spot in the film suitable for television. You better watch out for foul language, sex and overall negativity; Bad Santa is a bad movie.
