In this action adventure film, bounty hunter Beck (Dwayne The Rock Johnson) is commissioned to retrieve Travis (Seann William Scott), a fast-talking, smart-mouthed double dealer from an Amazon rainforest. Travis, the son of Becks boss, is an amateur archeologist seeking a gold relic worth millions in Brazil. Travis proves to be more of a handful than Beck expected, with his nonstop mouth and his reluctance to leave. Travis is trying to find the prize before Mariana (Rosario Dawson), a beautiful rebel leader who holds the answers to some of the jungles hidden mysteries, and Hatcher (Christopher Walken), an evil mine owner who has a stronghold on the community and pays the locals a pittance to perform backbreaking labor. Beck complicates Traviss search, and Travis doesnt make Becks life any easier either.

The Rundown is full of unbelievable action with the emphasis on unbelievable. The hero seems to be indestructible; he is shot at, involved in a horrendous car crash, tumbles down a steep mountain for several minutes hitting trees and rocks, has a jeep fall on top of him and, after all of this, shows little sign of injury. In numerous scenes of violent hand-to-hand combat and fighting with automatic weapons, the good guys seem to be immune to pain and injury showing just a few cuts and scratches after horrific battles. Sprinkled amidst the violence are some humor and bad language. While two men are incapacitated, monkeys converge on them with the apparent intent to have sex with them.
