In this unwitty, teen date flick, part-time radio traffic reporter Tom Leezak (Ashton Kutcher) and writer Sarah McNerney (Brittany Murphy) create sparks the first time they meet. He is of a blue-collar upbringing, while she is the daughter of a Beverly Hills millionaire. Soon they are living together, and nine months later they marry and embark on a honeymoon to Venice. Sarahs family strongly disapproves of the unsophisticated Tom, who clashes with spoiled, snobby Sarah as their trip turns into a horrormoon. They spend their first night in a snow bank in Switzerland in the tiny rental car that Tom has rented, and further complications and disagreements prevent them from consummating their marriage for days. Their troubles accelerate when Sarahs old boyfriend Peter Prentis (Christian Kane) mysteriously appears. Just Married may find favor with some teenagers and young adults, but its silliness will disappoint most mature viewers.

Just Married is a romantic comedy that lacks both romance and comedy. The attempts at humor are based on slapstick, sexual references and flatulence jokes. Sarahs parents disapprove of the marriage, but they have no problem with Tom and Sarah living together. Sarah admits that she cant bear the thought of her father knowing she is no longer a virgin. As might be expected, the movie has many sexual references and some crude sexual behavior. On the airplane Tom and Sarah attempt to have sex in the restroom, but his foot gets stuck in the commode. Tom meets a young woman in a bar who tries unsuccessfully to seduce him. The continual slapstick violence includes an electrical shock that knocks Tom across the room, an altercation in the hotel that lands both in jail, and deliberate attempts to physically hurt each other. Regular profanity and obscenities further pollute the movie. Due to a simple script containing mean-spirited violence, crude sexual content, foul language and a casual treatment of premarital sex, Just Married is not recommended by Preview.
