Dirty Work

Dirty Work is a dirty movie. In fact, it is one of the most disgustingly crude comedies to come out of Hollywood in quite some time. It's simplistic plot only serves as a infantile vehicle to display an endless stream of crude, often sexually oriented, slapstick antics. It stars Norm Macdonald and Artie Lange as two young men who have been lifelong friends who go into the business of taking revenge on obnoxious people. Their principal target is an unscrupulous real estate developer (Christopher McDonald) who turns out to be a formidable opponent. They also desperately try to earn $50,000 to pay for a heart transplant for Artie's dirty talking father (Jack Warden). The surgery is to be performed by a neurotic surgeon played by Chevy Chase. There may be an audience for this type of trash, possibly among Saturday Night Live fans, but it's difficult to visualize anyone else being able to sit through it.

Hardly a minute goes by when some type of crude incident or remark is not inflicted on the audience. There are many supposedly humorous references to sex and dirty sex, comical incidents involving sexy women , prostitutes, a dirty talking old man , animal sex and crude bathroom humor. And , of course, all of this is punctuated with many crude words and obscenities and some regular profanity. There's some slapstick violence including some fist fighting, striking, off screen shooting and destruction of a building, but not of this seems excessive, just dumb. And one scene features some rear male "mooning" nudity. MGM Pictures has hit the bottom of the barrel with this abomination, so avoid it at all cost.
