Jerry Seinfeld once joked about having a television show about nothing. This is a film about nothing. Imagine going to Brooklyn and tagging along with three 15-year-old girls for a few days as they hang out, eat junk food, commit petty crimes, go to parties, smoke marijuana, and deal with unwanted pregnancies. There is nothing more to this film--no plot, no compelling storyline, no subtle or overt message. A seemingly endless closing sequence of one girl walking in silence and another riding a subway in silence convey the essence of this film--nothing. The girls are members of their schools semi-famous marching band and worry about their schools closing due to asbestos, but the film focuses almost entirely on their mundane lives outside of school. Unless you are a die-hard arthouse aficionado with an unrelenting voyeuristic desire to see inner city life, this film has no entertainment value

OUR SONG could pass as a documentary on bad behavior among teens. One of the young girls becomes pregnant and wants to keep the baby but is encouraged to consider abortion by her friend who admits to having one. The main concern of the pregnant girl is if her baby will be cute and despite the pregnancy, she goes to a party and smokes marijuana and ends up kissing a boy who is not the father of her child. All three girls are shown shoplifting with no repercussions. One girl fantasizes about being shot, saying it would be a relief. She also expresses a desire to have a male stripper at her birthday party, saying she would touch him. A friend of the three girls commits suicide offscreen by jumping off a building with her baby. These bad behaviors along with an obscenity-laced dialogue and non-existent plot make OUR SONG a very unpleasant film experience.
