Head Over Heels

MPAA Rating: PG-13

Entertainment: +2 1/2

Content: -2 1/2

Art restoration specialist Amanda Pierce (Monica Potter) has been unlucky in love. And when she catches her current boyfriend in bed with another woman, she looks for a new place to live. She ends up with four supermodels in an apartment that overlooks the neighboring apartment of handsome Jim Weston (Freddie Prinz, Jr.). Theres an obvious attraction between Jim and Amanda, but shes been burned too many times to try making a match. But with encouragement and a makeover by her roommates, Amanda tries playing with fire once more. Just when things seem to be going well, Amanda sees Jim apparently commit murder. Is he the nice guy next door or a psycho killer? Amanda and the models decide some sleuthing is in order before she goes on the next date and what turns up takes everyone by surprise. The dating crowd will enjoy this tongue-in-cheek look at fashion supermodels and falling for more than meets the eye.

But this PG-13 story is not suitable for either young or older audiences. Numerous sexual references are made, particularly about the promiscuous lifestyle of the models. Premarital sex is not only condoned but encouraged by the women. In their first meeting, Amanda is kncked over by Jims Great Dane, who then tries to mount her. Surface beauty is treated humorously as one of the models is constantly bandaged from one operation after another and situations lead the models into often ugly situations such as a commode explosively backing up on them. Like Hitchcocks REAR WINDOW, voyeurism plays a major part in the film, but the sexual aspects are strongly emphasized when the models tell Amanda they viewed her encounter with Jim. The sexually charged language is frequently punctuated with profane exclamations and several obscenities. So dont fall for HEAD OVER HEELS.
