In this British crime comedy, writer/director Guy Ritchie follows his inventive LOCK, STOCK, AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS with the sharp and hard-edged SNATCH. In this film, the object of everyones affections is an 86-carat diamond recently stolen by Franky Four Fingers (Benicio Del Toro). When he makes a stop in London, Boris the Blade (Rade Sherbedgia) hires men to rob Franky as he bets on a boxing match, with a bookie employed by crime boss Brick Top (Alan Ford). Meanwhile, illegal boxing promoters, Turkish (Jason Statham) and his young protg Tommy (Stephen Graham), agree to a rigged fight between their man and Brick Tops. But when gypsy fighter Mickey ONeil (Brad Pitt) knocks out their fighter, they are forced to convince Mickey to fight for them. Unfortunately for them, thats more difficult than anyone can imagine. When New York diamond dealer Avi (Dennis Farina) gets word of the plan to steal his diamond from Franky, he muddies the waters even more by hopping a plane to England and hiring local legend Bullet Tooth Tony (Vinnie Jones) to help track down his property. A twisting and winding story in the vein of 1994s PULP FICTION follows and its likely to find its largest appeal among twenty and thirty-somethings.

Since every character in this film could be considered a criminal, its difficult to find any redeeming people in it. However, the movies chief theme is not a serious story of good versus evil, but instead a comedy of bad versus less bad. While it largely succeeds with amusing scenes, plenty of objectionable content surfaces. Only a few sexual innuendoes are heard, but several instances of female nudity occur, particularly on calendars and playing cards. Playing a more central role is frequent and sometimes, gruesome violence, such as a mans arm, severed off-screen, picked up and carried away. Although some accents cant be understood, objectionable language includes over 130 f-words. Thus, graphic violence, strong language and sexual content will stop our readers from grabbing SNATCH.
