Slappy And The Stinkers

SLAPPY AND THE STINKERS is a comical story of five kids (Joseph Ashton, Carl Lindner, Leroi Gray, Scarlett Pomers, and Travis Tedford) nicknamed "the Stinkers" for the pranks they pull in summer school. If they are not tormenting their teacher, Mr. Brinway (B.D. Wong), then they are devising new plans to get out of his class. However, when they decide to rescue and set free Slappy, a seal from the zoo, real trouble begins. They boys find out that Slappy may not be quite ready to go back to the ocean and taking care of him can be quite a job. Before they can return him to the zoo, however, Slappy is captured by a crook who wants to sell him. It is then up to the Stinkers to retrieve Slappy and return him to safety. Kids will be laughing outloud at this obnoxious and hilarious seal and his five mischievious friends.

However, there is quite a bit of crude behavior in the movie. Slappy himself is constantly passing gas, a bird relieves himself on Mr. Brinway's head and the kids often call each other crude names. In addition, a child vomits on another child's shoes. This grossed-out comedy is an extremely disappointing trend in children's movies lately. Also, there are several sexually suggestive comments made about animals mating and body parts. In one scene, a man's genitals are grabbed with a child's toy and, in another scene, a man's genitals are crushed when he lands on a log. Most of the violence is slapstick, but the seal is shocked with an electric prong several times. SLAPPY AND THE STINKERS is exciting for kids to watch but it's crudities are definitely disappointing.
