This new straight to video release features the combined super powers of Batman (Kevin Conroy) and Superman (Tim Daly). When The Joker (Mark Hamill) elicits the help of Lex Luthor, a shady business man, (Clancy Brown) in a new fiendish scheme, only the combined powers of both Batman and Superman can save the city of Metropolis. The Joker cooks up an evil plan to kill Superman, so that he can once again control the city. Luthor joins forces with the Joker so that he can use his robots for warfare and eliminate Batman. Will the Man Of Steel and the Caped Crusader be able to foil the plot of this diabolical duo? Or will their alter egos clash as they compete for the affections of reporter, Lois Lane (Dana Delany). Action explodes as Batman and Superman clash with each other and their notorious archenemies.
This new video is sure to thrill Super-hero fans. As with most Super-hero cartoons, good seems to triumph over evil in this video. However, Batman and Superman have quite a few skirmishes before they put their differences aside and join forces. Superman remains a true hero, fighting evil to the end. Batman, on the other hand, does have a shady side. He even strikes Luxor's woman body guard in the face. The Joker has a whole host of evil tricks in his bag. He gasses men and some fall dead. Luxor's robots look like giant spiders and are able to shoot and stab people with their legs. There are many violent scenes. There are fist fights, shoot outs and even women fighting one another. There is one bar scene which includes alcohol and a reference to The Joker being intimate with a woman. Batman and Lois are also shown consuming alcohol. Unfortunately, the constant violence and questionable dialogue earn this video a negative rating. Some material may be too intense for younger viewers.
