Human Traffic In this British import, young men and women spend their leisure time at dance clubs and parties, taking drugs and looking for sexual encounters. More a character study than plot driven, the film may attract fans of similar films, like 1996's TRAINSPOTTING, however, strong audience pull is unlikely. The story includes character's thoughts and imaginings with little to no plot. Drug use is pervasive in the film, and its negative effects are even satirized. But one character seems to realize his drug habits are taking him away from friends and family. As the young people try to find relief from their boring jobs and meaning in their lives, clubs, drugs and sex are the tools of choice. Along with frequent drug use, and a few scenes of explicit sex with nudity, the f-word seems to appear multiple times in each sentence. An interesting look into the lives of British clubbers of the 90s, HUMAN TRAFFIC features pervasive drug use, an extreme amount of objectionable language and explicit sexual content that earns a severely objectionable rating.
