Minions A computer-animated family comedy from Universal. Voices: Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton. Directed by Kyle Balda, Pierre Coffin, FILM SYNOPSIS: Despicable Me’s Minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob are recruited by Scarlet Overkill, a super-villain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb, hatches a plot to take to the Crown of England. PREVIEW REVIEW: Don’t look for any real inspiring message or redemptive moment. What we have here is a rat-a-tat gag-athon. (Anything wrong with that? Who couldn’t use a laugh right about now?) They are the Three Stooges in yellow: inept, bumbling and occasionally, hysterical. Pity the poor nefarious fellow they attempt to serve, for they are a motley group. Perhaps the minions best serve as supporting characters rather than mounting their own film; still they are adorable in their misguided way. And if you should wonder if their mischievous misadventures will be a bad influence on your minion/munchkins, I can’t help you there. It depends on their nature. It wouldn’t have led me astray. But then I’m told I was a perfect child. Preview Reviewer: Phil BoatwrightDistributor: Universal Summary Copyright Preview Family Movie Review (www.previeoOnline.org) |
