Unanswered Prayers
by Phil Boatwright

Lifetime Television will premiere the original movie Unanswered Prayers, based on the popular Garth Brooks song of the same name. Starring Erick Close, Samantha Mathis, Madchen Amick, Patty Duke. It will air on Lifetime Monday, November 29th at 9:00pm ET?PT.

FILM SYNOPSIS: The film explores the themes of marriage, family, community and second chances with love, asking "Did I let the one I loved get away or is she right in front of me?" It is the story of a married father living the American dream. When the woman of his high school fantasies returns home, he has to face his past and will be presented with a choice that could change his future forever.

PREVIEW REVIEW: Engrossing, well-acted, it teaches a lesson while never overlooking its goal – to entertain. Its positive themes realistically portrayed. Caution: there are several minor expletives (damns and hells), but I caught no harsh language; there is a sexual situation, but it does not get graphic; we see two people going skinny dipping, but no graphic nudity; the film is very forthright about teen sex, but the ultimate message concerns being responsible. Prayers are spoken over meals and the Mr. Brooks song ends the story on a spiritual note.
