This remake of a 1980 film of the same name stars Sharon Stone as the tough-talking girlfriend of an Irish gangster. After doing three years in a Florida prison for her boyfriend Kevin (Jeremy Northern), Gloria returns to New York. Kevin has just had the family of his accountant killed for stealing a computer disk with important information on it. But the man's seven-year-old son Nicky (Jean-Luke Figueroa) escapes with the disk. When Gloria learns Kevin plans to kill the child, she takes the child and the disk. Although Gloria tries to run, she ends up making a deal through Ruby (George C. Scott), an old lover and Kevin's superior. The slow pace and poor acting may turn away all but devoted fans.

When Gloria leaves prison, she's given the low-cut evening dress she was arrested in to wear out.. She's later seen twice in bra and slip changing into other clothes. When escaping with the kid, she orders Kevin and his men to strip at gunpoint. She comments it's been three years since she's seen a naked man. Rear male nudity is shown as the men strip. Gloria also makes a remark about one of the men implying a reference to genitals. Although some of the violence is severe, like the shooting of Nicky's family, it's not overly graphic. But a man hanging on the outside of Gloria's car is shown being hit by another car. Gloria does turn to the church for help and a priest helps her find a school for Nicky. Nicky is also seen at the prayer altar talking to his parents. But the biggest disappointment is the abundance of foul language. Nicky even tells Gloria she has a filthy mouth, but his is not much better. Many crude terms and sixty f- and s-words are used along with over thirty uses of Jesus and God's name in vain. Gloria also uses a child's term for genitals when explaining the difference between men and boys. Even Sharon Stone fans should avoid GLORIA.
