Girl 6

Spike Lee sinks to new lows with this latest contribution to black culture. Theresa Randle plays a young woman living in New York who takes a job as a phone sex operator. She becomes Girl 6" to her customers. Lee plays her next door neighbor who knows how dangerous the world of pornography can be. Interspersed with this serious subject are some comical scenes of Lee in flashbacks of sitcoms in the seventies. It's hard to imagine GIRL 6 finding much of an audience among the black community. Blacks should be insulted to be portrayed in such an offensive setting.

Although the film attempts to deliver a message about the strong addictive nature of pornography, the explicit sexual conversations are so offensive they blot out any positive theme. A major part of the film includes men describing their sexual fantasies to the phone sex operator who then fulfills the fantasies over the phone. Near frontal female nudity, breast nudity and rear nudity are shown in a topless bar, and 50 obscenities add insult to injury. Anyone wasting their time and money on GIRL 6 should run, not walk, to the nearest shower
