Air Force One is the world's safest aircraft in the world -- until now. As the escort for the President of the United States (Harrison Ford), the plane returns from Russia after the President makes a compelling statement against terrorism. Then terrorists infiltrate the plane as journalists filming a documentary, but take control soon after takeoff. They demand that their newly imprisoned general be released, who will certainly return Mother Russia to communism. They change the plane's course-heading, and threaten to execute hostages at intervals until the general is released. The President, who has hidden in the bowels of the plane, is the only hope for saving the first family and the rest of the passengers. This blockbuster will draw its intended adult audience in droves. They will be inspired by the character and patriotism of this man who stands for justice and fights terrorists with valor.

This presidential caricature comes as a refreshing change to the usually corrupt or bumbling presidents of previous Hollywood films. He is a strong man who's willing to commit "political suicide" if it means standing up for what's right. He's also willing to sacrifice his life for the safety of his family and staff. He's a man who makes us all proud to be Americans. Unfortunately, he, like much of his staff, curses like a sailor. The movie contains 14 regular profanities, more than a few of which come from the president himself. Violence also turns up with regularity as many machine-gun exchanges and fist fights ensue throughout the film. But the violence never appears to be glorified or uncalled-for. Some viewers may become disturbed by several scenes in which men and women are shot point blank and others fall from the plane without parachutes. In other words, this presidential ride is too scandalous for discerning viewers.
