Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection "F"
Entertainment: +2
Acceptability: -2

Manga/anime action adventure from creator Akira Toriyama.

FILM SYNOPSIS: The nineteenth Japanese animated feature film (a mix of hand drawn and digital) based on the Dragon Ball series and the fifteenth to carry the Dragon Ball Z branding, depicts the return of the villain Freeza, as well as the god of destruction Beerus, and Whis from a previous adventure, Battle of Gods. Two remnants of Frieza's army named Sorbet and Tagoma arrive searching for the Dragon Balls with the aim of reviving Frieza. They succeed, and Frieza subsequently seeks revenge on the Saiyans.

The English language dub of the film has a limited release in North American theaters on August 4, running through August 12, 2015.

PREVIEW REVIEW: Battles and talk of battles, punctuated by humor (questionable) and mild obscenity (surprising), this kitschy sci-fi cartoon is not meant for children. To be honest, Iím not sure who the intended audience might be. It seems shallow, like a string of poorly produced half hour episodes strung together, repeating the narrative endlessly, and lacking any real dimension. Since this series has had a huge following and made scads of money, I may be missing something. But darn if I know what it is.
