Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, Steve Buscemi, Alan Arkin, Olivia Wilde. Comedy. Written by Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley. Directed by Don Scardino.

FILM SYNOPSIS: When a street magician's stunt begins to make their show look stale, superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone and Anton Marvelton look to salvage on their act - and their friendship - by staging their own daring stunt. Carell plays a self-centered, womanizing jerk Ė until he sees the light. Buscemi is his good-natured best friend and partner. And Carrey plays a whacked-out renegade magician to perfection.

PREVIEW REVIEW: Itís difficult, evidently impossible, for filmmakers to steer clear of crudity and profane language when making a humorous movie these days. I guess this eraís moviegoers would be bored with the antics of Danny Kayeís Court Jester, Jerry Lewisís Nutty Professor, or Peter Sellerís Dr. Strangelove. What a shame, because there are parts of this comedy I found witty, bawdy (a good kind of crudity), and fresh. I laughed out loud many times, finding the entire male cast hysterical and Ms. Wilde dutiful and lovely. Thereís other content you may object to (read the list), but even if we can overlook some visual naughtiness, how do I recommend a film where most of the cast profanes Godís name Ė or Christís? Despite the nice messages about friendship and people being able to become less selfish and more aware of the needs of others, I canít bring myself to say, ďOh, go, pretend you donít hear the "GDs," youíll have a great time.Ē
