Sharlto Copley, Jason Cope, and the ever-popular Nathalie Boltt. Sci-Fi action thriller. Writen & directed by Neill Blomkamp.

FILM SYNOPSIS: Refugee space aliens (who look like human-sized crustaceans) are rounded up in concentration-like camps. As fears grow in society, the space visitors become unwelcome and mistreated. It harkens back to holocaust treatment. We earthlings reveal a cruelty many thought unthinkable. But, what’s this? Are the E. T.s not so benign?

PREVIEW REVIEW: It’s clever, but I found the excessive special effects, the puking, and the grotesque imagery over-the-top. Fans of the genre, however, ate it up. Some even sat there eating from their over-sized popcorn bags while one earthling contracted a virus, which caused him to vomit over his birthday cake and his DNA to morph into – one of them. There’s no longer an envelope to push. It’ all out there, baby. And the fans seem to get a kick out of gruesome imagery. If you prefer films like To Kill A Mockingbird or Tender Mercies, this ain’t your flick.

It has that same dark humor and bizarre tone Mars Attacks had a few years back. Just a little less humor and a whole lot more graphic gore.
