Theres a mounting trend by film studios to release films without press screenings. The irony is some of these films turn out to be surprising, enjoyable and rewarding experiences. Date Movie, however, is not one of them.

Last weekend, unwary audiences throughout the land flocked to megaplexes in order to see this putrid parody, where they became sacrificial lambs at the alter of mediocrity. Several romantic comedies, as well as action thrillers, were spoofed, but while each comic setup was a pop culture salute, the execution of same was generally clumsy and vulgar. Its difficult to find just the right comic tone and sensibility when approaching comedy, so funny filmmakers often settle for the cheapest, easiest way to exude a laugh. Like the old-time pie fights, bodily functions are now the source of screen humor. Our content breakdown explores some examples of what last weeks filmgoers sat through.

Summary
Crude Language: vulgar sexual remarks throughout; crude language including the use of the N-word on several occasions; slang terminology for the sexual act and for body parts; there is a continuous amount of visual gross-outs including a woman popping a giant pimple and a man flossing a womans teeth and extracting huge food particles; liposuction with the fat gathered in a jar; chewed food being spit out; there are even grosser gags, but why put them in your head; suffice it to say, this movie is meant to be one of the most disgusting films youre likely to see
Obscene Language: 20
Profanity: 4 misuses of Gods name
Violence: cartoonish slapstick including people falling off buildings, getting kicked in the groin, martial arts battles, and a man shooting himself in the head with a nail gun. Blood: the material is played for laughs, but there is some violent imagery including a man on a game show shooting women with a shotgun
Sexual Intercourse: lots of alluring clothing and camera shots; implied sex at least twice
Nudity: none, but lots of scantily clad women
Homosexual Conduct: implied sexual comments refereeing to the gay lifestyle; a Michael Jackson look-alike tries to entice a boy and a man makes suggestive moves toward another man
Sexually Suggestive Action/Dialog: sexual conversations throughout, some provocative, others downright vulgar
Drug Abuse: various times people are seen drinking socially; a cat is seen smoking I kid you not
Other: I assume the aim of the filmmakers is to generate as much sick humor from the proceedings as possible
Running Time: 90 minutes too
Intended Audience: those who laugh at flatulence jokes
