This romantic drama is a remake of a 1996 French film LAppartement. As a young, business professional in Chicago, Matthew Simon (Josh Hartnett) is entranced by his beloved Lisa (Diane Kruger). While seeking to spend the rest of his life with her, she mysteriously vanishes, leaving Matthew to pick up the pieces of his shattered heart. He eventually moves on. Two years later, he is advancing up the corporate ladder and is engaged to his bosss daughter (Jessica Par) when he thinks he spots Lisa in a bar. Confused by the turmoil in his heart, he begins a desperate search in the area of Wicker Park for his first love that soon leads him down a dangerous path. He encounters many peculiar situations and suspects that all is not as it seems. Also starring Rose Byrne.

Matthew and Lisa had a true and deeply rooted love that kept them wholly devoted to one another. Unfortunately, a twist of lies wrenches the two apart, which culminates in a surprising ending. The film demonstrates how lies can cause great destruction in peoples lives and can have a rippling effect far beyond measure. It also shows how the truth can bring reconciliation and healing to a situation that is seemingly irreparable. On the negative end, the movie has three moderate sex scenes with mild nudity. Sex outside of the context of marriage is portrayed as appropriate and normal. While low on violence, it is loaded with obscenities and profanities that detract from the film. Wicker Parks PG-13 rating is borderline R and should only be viewed by adult audiences.
