In this film from Columbia Pictures, Larry Gigli (Ben Affleck) is a hit man for a California mobster named Louis. With his friend about to be sent to prison, Louis enlists Gigli (pronounced jee-ley) to kidnap the federal prosecutors brother, Brian (Justin Bartha), who is living in a home for the mentally handicapped. The plan is to hold Brian hostage until the attorney drops the charges. Gigli abducts the young man and takes him to his one bedroom apartment. All is well until Ricki (Jennifer Lopez), hired by Louis, shows up to keep Gigli from messing up the job. At first, Gigli is offended, however, because Ricki is so beautiful, he resigns himself to the fact that working with her might be a good thing. That is until he finds out Ricki is a lesbian. The more she pulls away, the more Gigli wants her. Their feelings for each other do grow and it leads them through a chain of events that endanger their lives. Both Gigli and Ricki also develop a close bond with Brian, their hostage.

Where to start? There were so many things wrong with this movie. For instance, on a scale of 1-10 for boring, it has to register a 10! Moreover, why cant Hollywood make a movie without using the f word? It is used over 30 times just in the first 30-40 minutes of the movie, and over 100 times in the entire film. Not only is the f word used over and over, there is a great deal of other foul language, including the Lords name being taken in vain. Gigli includes some violence; a man is gagged and put in a Laundromat drier until he comes up with the money he owes the mob boss. In one scene, a man is shot in the head. There is a good deal of sexual talk in the film between the main two characters and a sex scene between them. The only thing enjoyable about this movie was the performance given by Justin Bartha who played the mentally handicapped young man. He did an awesome job. In the film, Gigli tells people how to pronounce his name by telling them it rhymes with really. Take if from this reviewer, the movie is really bad and not worth spending money to see. Due to the many negative elements, Preview cannot recommend Gigli.
