Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) is the hottest male model in the world that is until the annual VH-1 Fashion Awards. While Zoolander has won the title for best male model three years running, he loses out to popular rookie model Hansel (Owen Wilson). After the stunning loss, Zoolander begins to re-evaluate his life, but is pulled back in to the style-setting fast lane when top rate designer Mugatu (Will Ferrell) wants Derek to model his new fashion line. However, Mugatus real plan includes hypnotizing Derek to kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Derek will need the help of reporter Matilda Jeffries (Christine Taylor) and others to get him out of this life-threatening predicament. Zoolander is based on the character in Stillers popular video short that aired on Cable-TVs VH-1 Fashion Awards a few years back. The comedy chemistry between Wilson and Stiller is great as their interaction carries the film. With plenty of laughs and a dearth of current popular movies, look for Zoolander to have a sizable showing at the box office.

Since the movie deals with male models, there is plenty of poking fun at the modeling industry, although it is never mean-spirited. Not only are the models portrayed as brainless, but the designers dont get away unscathed either. Sexual innuendo is prominent as characters make all kinds of comments about body parts and sexual exploits. In addition, one scene implies that sex is taking place between multiple partners, although all that is shown are some comic faces of people during the act. Although done in a comical manner, promiscuous sex is still presented in a positive light. Foul language includes quite a few s-words and other milder obscenities, several strong profanities and many crude terms. With excessive sexual content and vulgar language, Zoolander is morally unfashionable.
