At a friend’s wedding, all the single groomsmen make a bet to invest in a bank fund every month. The last man to get married wins all the money in the fund. Seven years later, the fund sits near half-a-million dollars and all but two of the group are married. But Michael (Jerry O’Connell) desperately needs to win the pot after running up a $51,000 gambling debt. Womanizing Kyle (Jake Busey) doesn’t need the money, but has no plans to end his quest to bed every woman on earth. When Kyle confides to Michael that one woman almost turned him domestic, Michael hatches a plan to bring Natalie (Elizabeth Shannon) back into Kyle’s life. However, Michael begins to have second thoughts about the plan when his feelings for Natalie emerge. Fans of crude sexual humor will find TOMCATS up their alley.
And the crude humor is almost continuous, beginning with the groomsmen standing in the ceremony with tented pants after drinking Viagra-spiked wine. Promiscuous pre-marital sex is endorsed as Michael and Kyle are shown in various encounters, although Michael’s views change after meeting Natalie. One of the group is obsessed with images of his wife in lesbian affairs, and when caught, she asks him to join them. Kyle develops testicular cancer and, in a particularly disgusting scene, asks Michael to bring him the removed gland. The tissue gets loose and bounces around the hospital until landing in the cafeteria as an hors d'oeurve. Another crude scene has a man squeeze his nursing wife’s breast for coffee cream. Along with numerous slang terms for sexual acts and anatomical terms, the dialogue is filled with obscenities, profanity and crude vocabulary. TOMCATS belongs in a back alley with other trash.
