During International Elvis week in Las Vegas, Thomas Murphy (Kevin Costner) and Michael Zane (Kurt Russell) are among the hundreds impersonating the King of Rock and Roll. But with their partners, Michael and Murphy steal $3.2 million from the Riviera Casino, leaving numerous bodies in their getaway. When its time to spilt the money, Murphy decides to take it all for himself. But Michael survives the double cross and manages to get the money first. However, on his trip to launder the casino bills, hes .forced to include Cybil (Courtney Cox Arquette), a waitress from the Last Chance motel diner where the gang hid the loot. Cybils young son, Jesse (David Kaye) proves a helpful partner in getting Michael into and out of some tight spots. But with Murphy after him and federal marshalls after Murphy, Michael is headed for an explosive showdown. Fans expecting more comic action revolving around the Elvis casino heist may be disappointed with this action fantasy. Some viewers may shy from the excessive violence, but the stars should still draw a sizable audience.

Violence is almost non-stop in this action film, from a massive shoot-out in the beginning to the massive shootout at the end. In between, several smaller shootings with graphic wounds, a body with several arrows in it, and a few car wrecks fill the void. While others impersonate Elvis, Murphy claims to be an illegitmate son. Sadly, the young Jesse proves to be as larcenous as the adults as he steals wallets, trucks, and uses obscene finger gestures. He often points cap pistols at people but, after one shoot-out, he gives up his guns. But Jesse is apparently a product of Cybils teaching since she also steals money, cars, and has graphic sex after the first meeting with Michael. Another scene strongly implies sex as she puts her hand under Michaels towel. However, the film avoids all but brief rear nudity due to skimpy costumes on Vegas showgirls. Almost 100 obscenities overpower the dialogue along with numerous strong profanities and crudities. With a whole lot of shooting going on, this film should be marked return to sender.
