It's Port Chester University's bicentennial and President Andrea Garcia-Thompson (Jessica Walter) has transformed the school into a bastion of political correctness. The Womynists, the Meat-Haters, and the Black Revolutionaries are just some of the politically correct groups that spend more time demonstrating than studying. Sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the special interests is the Psi Kappa Mu fraternity, known on campus as "The Pit." The fraternity is a collection of outcasts, whose only interests are getting drunk and playing loud music. The president of The Pit, Droz (Jeremy Piven), a seven-year senior, discovers that the President has a plan to remove them from the campus. They must raise $7500 to pay for damages to their building. Droz decides that what they need is a good old fashioned blow-out party, and charge admission. The president and her student allies try to sabotage the party, but their success is in no way assured. This ANIMAL HOUSE of the 90's has neither talented actors nor a quality script.

PCU goes for cheap laughs all the way. The premise is disturbingly factual, but the caricatures are so heavy-handed that there's no middle ground portrayed between the two extremes. The audience will root for a group of rebellious, irresponsible students who delight in bucking the system, heavy drinking and smoking pot. PCU's objectionable dialogue includes 33 obscenities and sexual epithets. Fortunately, sexual content is very subdued, but there is one glimpse of full rear male nudity. Most unfortunate is the casual treatment of drug abuse. Although one character suffers from being stoned, many others are shown having a great time while using drugs, especially marijuana. This is unconscionable in a PG-13 film, and is PCU's greatest detractor. Be cinematically correct and bypass PCU.
