This latest in the line of WAYNE'S WORLD type movies follows the exploits of the Lone Rangers, a heavy metal band looking for their big chance for stardom. Chaz (Brendan Fraser), the lead singer, gets the idea of breaking into a radio station as a way to get their new song played. With his two bumbling band members, Rex (Steve Buscemi) and Pip (Adam Sandler), Chaz manages to hold the radio station hostage with water pistols. Unfortunately, one calamity after another occurs. The Lone Rangers are stuck inside the station, not wanting to get arrested and still unable to play their tape. One predictable scene follows another as the Lone Rangers wallow their way through this movie. AIRHEADS makes WAYNE'S WORLD look like a candidate for Picture of the Year.

Not surprising, this poorly done, raging hormone film stoops to crudity in its lame attempt to entertain. Many obscenities, obscene gestures and profanity occur throughout AIRHEADS. There are several sexual references as well as people being kicked in the groin twice. While holding the radio station employees as hostages, Pip and a station employee engage in sex, with the girl shown in her underwear. Pip is seen naked from the front covering himself with his hat. As with many rock and roll movies, destruction of property is normal and a complete disregard for the authorities is condoned. AIRHEADS goes very flat in both entertainment and acceptability.
