Editor's Note: This film is rated NR. The popular Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, star in this straight to video feature film. As Emily and Tess Tyler, the mischievous 7th graders live with their dad, Max (Tom Amandes) in California. He's a successful sculptor, a loving father and a lonely widower. The girls decide it's time for him to start socializing with women again. With the help of a friend, they put a personal ad on a billboard resulting in hundreds of letters from eager women hoping to meet Max. When Max accidentally meets Brooke (Jessica Tucker), a prospective girlfriend, the delighted twins are caught spying on them. Meanwhile, Emily and Tess must deal with a new kid with an attitude at school. He has rings in his ears and eyebrows, and is an expert diver who just might beat Tess out of her place on the diving team. Girls between 6 and 12 will find the Olsen twins' shenanigans hilarious and BILLBOARD DAD fun to watch.

Max is the kind of dad every child would like to have. He hardly fusses at the twins for sneaking out at night, climbing up and painting the billboard. Even though he has been withdrawn since his wife died, Max is a good sport when he becomes a public figure on the local TV news. Later, when the girls are caught spying on him in a restaurant, he just thinks they are cute. Max and Brooke announce they are going to have a romantic evening alone, and the girls jokingly tell them to practice safe sex. The grownups just laugh. Max's devious agent brings a model for Max to sketch in the nude, but she is wearing a silk kimono draped around her shoulders so no nudity is shown. Nigel suffers a hit to his jaw when angry Max discovers what a lying schemer his "trusted" agent has become. Thankfully, this unrated video has no foul language. The twins learn a valuable lesson about judging people as they discover the new kid has an amazingly unselfish side to him. Parents might want to watch BILLBOARD DAD with younger children to point out any family attitudes they feel are inappropriate.
